Between Us Ladies by Imperfection Lives Here

Between Us Ladies: Dinner Soiree was held on November 6, 2021 at the Caruso club. The event was organized by Michelle and Gina, the co-founders of Imperfection Lives Here. Our organization, Imperfection Lives Here, has a vision to uplift women to be the best version of themselves, while creating a powerhouse community of women who support women. In a world where women are often pitted against each other, we are creating a space where women can learn, celebrate each other and grow together.

Imperfection Lives Here hosted a dinner soiree, Between Us Ladies, to bring women together. The purpose of the event was to give us a reason to dress up and experience a night filled with fun and inspiration, especially during these difficult Covid times. The night featured vendors with booths set up for women to showcase their businesses and network. There were also, guest speakers sharing their life journeys and pouring into the women attending. Mikhayla Patterson is a Masters Student and works with M’Chigeeng First Nation leading in the development of a new initiative addressing addictions, Aurore Gatwenzi is an author who just released her poetry book Golden Pours and Catherine Warega is a businesswoman. They inspired and encouraged women in ways we are able to apply to our own lives.

Attending were women from all walks of life, professional women, stay at home moms and students. As women in Sudbury, we needed an event like this one to come together and be reminded of our different strengths and how we can learn from each other if we allow ourselves. The feedback from the event was astounding. “I appreciate all of your hard work in putting this event together and fostering such a safe and welcoming environment. I can't wait until the next event”, shared one woman from (Sudbury) who attended the event. Another woman from (North Bay) exclaimed: “I am so glad I was able to share in this and meet amazing women”. Women used this opportunity to network and connect. Moreover, the feedback we received will help us in planning our next event. In the near future, Imperfection Lives Here will be working on initiatives to bring women together and empower them to be confident and successful in achieving their goals. For 2022 we will be hosting similar events and working with organizations in Sudbury with a similar goal of supporting women to see how we can work together as a community.
